How does the Art Curriculum works?
Children’s Art Curriculum
Our art programme is designed as a structured curriculum.
Each art project is completed over 2–3 lessons, allowing children to explore ideas in depth rather than rushing through one-off crafts.
Through each project, children will develop observation skills, learn about art history and theory, practise painting techniques, and explore different cultures through art.
Course Structure
Each project includes:
• Lesson 1 – Observation & Inspiration
Children begin by observing real objects, images, or artworks.
They are introduced to a related artist, art movement, or cultural background.
Basic art theory such as colour, shape, line, or composition is explained in simple and practical ways.
• Lesson 2 – Technique & Experimentation
Children practise key techniques using the chosen medium (acrylic, watercolour, pastel, or colour pencil).
They experiment with colour mixing, brush control, layering, and texture.
• Lesson 3 – Final Artwork & Reflection (if required)
Children complete their final piece, applying what they have learned.
We encourage discussion and reflection to build confidence and communication skills.

Learning how to look carefully at objects, nature, and artworks before creating.
Art History & Cultural Understanding
Discovering artists and traditions from both Eastern and Western cultures.
Basic Art Theory
Understanding colour theory, composition, shapes, and visual balance in an age-appropriate way.
Painting & Drawing Techniques
Practising brush control, blending, layering, shading, and texture.
Creative Confidence
Developing independence, patience, and pride in completing a full art project.
